About the book:

TICK…

In the city of Stoke, a teenage girl is murdered in the middle of the day, her lifeless body abandoned in a field behind her school.

TOCK…

Two days later, a young mother is abducted. She’s discovered strangled and dumped in a local park.

TIME’S UP…

DS Grace Allendale and her team are brought in to investigate, but with a bold killer, no leads and nothing to connect the victims, the case seems hopeless. It’s only when a third woman is targeted that a sinister pattern emerges. A dangerous mind is behind these attacks, and Grace realises that the clock is ticking…

Can they catch the killer before another young woman dies?

My thoughts:

I'm absolutely loving psychological thrillers right now, so when I was offered the chance to read Tick Tock I couldn't wait. The blurb drums up enough tension and mystery already which made me want to read more!

I haven't read Hush Hush, the first book in the DS Grace Allendale Series, but after reading Tick Tock I am definitely going to go back and read it. You can read this book without having read the first, but if you are new to the series I would recommend starting with Hush Hush so that you can follow the character's development over the stories.

I loved the dramatic atmosphere that Sherratt created in the story. It has a fast pace to it and you can feel the tension building as time begins to run out to catch the killer. Sherratt impressively brings the emotions of the characters to life, as you can feel the stress and fear that begins to build in them as they start to fear the worst.

I really loved the dynamics between Grace and her family, who she has tried to keep her distance from but finds herself being dragged back in.

I found Tick Tock highly addictive, hooking you in and taking you along for the fearful ride.

If you love a good psychological thriller I would definitely recommend you pick up a copy and get reading! I have definitely become a fan of Mel Sherratt and look forward to reading more!
